Dental Crowns and Veneers in Cornelia, GA
A dental crown is a cap that covers an entire tooth to restore its strength and shape after a large cavity, crack, or root canal. A veneer is a thin porcelain shell bonded only to the front of a tooth to improve its color or shape. Crowns are mainly restorative, while veneers are mainly cosmetic. Both can be shaded to match your natural teeth.

Crowns & Veneers for Cornelia-area patients
Crowns and veneers are two of the most common ways to rebuild and refresh teeth. The right choice depends on how much healthy tooth remains and whether your main goal is strength, appearance, or both.
We plan both treatments with digital impressions where appropriate, and we pay close attention to shade, shape, and how the tooth fits your bite.

Crowns: strength
Cover and protect a weakened, cracked, or heavily filled tooth.
Crowns: after a root canal
Back teeth treated with a root canal usually need a crown to prevent fractures.
Veneers: appearance
Cover chips, gaps, uneven edges, and stains that whitening cannot fix.
Veneers: conservative
Usually require removing only a thin layer of enamel from the front of the tooth.
You may be a candidate if you have

- A tooth treated with a root canal
- Chipped, worn, or misshapen front teeth

Questions patients ask
Crowns & Veneers FAQs
How long do crowns and veneers last?
Both commonly last 10 years or more with good care. Avoid chewing ice or using teeth as tools, and wear a night guard if you grind.
Does getting a crown hurt?
The tooth is numbed during preparation. Mild gum tenderness for a day or two afterward is common.
Are veneers reversible?
Traditional veneers require removing a thin layer of enamel, so they are considered a permanent choice. We will discuss this before treatment.
Will insurance cover a crown?
Many dental plans cover part of a crown when it is needed for function. Veneers placed for cosmetic reasons are usually not covered.
